Fancy playing the role of manga characters and taking a snapshot with the manga incarnation of a leopard cat? Leopard cat is among the endangered animals of Taiwan, and the specially designed photo sticker booth serves as an ecological ambassador at IT Month, a major IT event in Taipei, to raise awareness of ecological conservation making use of digital installations.
Join the Forestry Bureau of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan and the Academia Sinica Center for Digital Cultures at Taipei World Trade Center, where the partnering organizations are presenting the photo sticker booth inspired by Save the Habitat, a manga story featuring the conservation of leopard cats.
Save the Habitat (搶救棲地大作戰, Qiangjiu qidi dazuozhan) is a manga story published by Creative Comic Collections (CCC). Its author KoKai dramatizes the activities of Taiwan Roadkill Observation Network with reference to Taiwan Encyclopedia of Life, breathing new life into leopard cats, collard scops owls, pangolins, and otters in an adventure full of ups and downs with a sense of humor.
The exhibit at IT Month recreates scenes in the manga, and people may assume the characters by using image synthesis to pose with the leopard cat and send the group photo back to their own mobile phone.
Also available at the exhibit are copies of Save the Habitat and CCC issues. Our staff will be more than happy to show you around and talk about the Taiwan Encyclopedia of Life.
