Taiwan Historical Maps
The Geographic Information Digital Archive Project collects old maps and historical aerial photographs from Taiwan’s various eras, carrying out digital archival and GIS processing. One of the project results is the Taiwan Historical Maps app, which enables users through a smartphone or tablet’s geolocation to overlay maps from different eras onto their current location, revealing past geographic features, name and environment. It is an excellent tool for understanding Taiwan local geographic information and environmental change.
