This study aims to make the best of the Academia Sinica Digital Humanity Research Platform and the Diary Knowledge Bank of the Institute of Taiwan History to explore the social network and actions of local elites such as Yang Zhaojia in the Japanese colonial period. By means of DH tools in analyzing the rich texts of Diary Knowledge Bank, I’ll pay special attention to the following two questions: 1. how social network affected and shaped their political actions? 2. How social network facilitated and impacted on their cultural sponsorship. |
