Main Theme: Sea Change: Renewal, Reform and Resolve in Global Arts, Sciences, and Business

Dates: November 3rd-5th (Friday-Sunday)

It is our great pleasure to announce that the PNC 2023 Annual Conference and Joint Meetings (PNC 2023) will take place at the University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan, from November 3rd-5th, 2023. The main theme is "Sea Change: Renewal, Reform and Resolve in Global Arts, Sciences, and Business." 

 

The PNC 2023 serves as an opportunity for researchers and developers to facilitate information exchanges among institutions of higher education in the Pacific Rim through computing and communications technology. PNC explores issues of information and technology exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of the cultural knowledge contents. The technical program of the PNC 2023 will include invited keynote speeches, paper presentations, workshops, and a poster session. We welcome submissions focusing on but not limited to the following topics:

Submission Categories

For Paper: Abstract Submission (1 page) or Full Paper Submission (6-8 pages)

For Poster & Demo: Abstract Submission (no more than 500 words)

 

Authors who hope to deliver presentations in the conference are required to submit: Abstract (1 page) OR Full Paper (6-8 pages) 

*Authors who consider IEEE Xplore Conference Proceedings please choose Full Paper Submission.

Paper Submission

  1. Abstract Submission (1 page)

Authors are invited to submit Abstracts or Full Papers through the online submission system by May 31, 2023 (GMT+8). 

 

The Acceptance for Abstracts and Full Papers will be announced on July 3, 2023 (GMT+8). 

 

For authors whose full papers are accepted and also hope to consider IEEE conference proceedings, please download the Conference Copyright Form and upload it with the camera-ready (final manuscript) on online submission system by August 1, 2023 (GMT+8). 

 

Kindly note that there will be NO hybrid and online sessions in this event. 

 

Submissions must be original and should not have been published previously while being reviewed.  

 

The full paper length is 6-8 pages, including figures and tables but not references. 

 

All submitted papers must conform to the IEEE Xplore Format for conference proceedings . 

 

As the reviewing will be double blind, papers must not include authors' names and affiliations. Furthermore, self-references that reveal the author's identity, e.g., "We previously showed (Smith, 1991) ..." must be avoided. Instead, use citations such as "Smith previously showed (Smith, 1991) ..." Papers that do not conform to these requirements will be rejected without review. 

 

Papers should not refer, for further details, to documents that are not available to the reviewers. For example, do not omit or redact important citation information to preserve anonymity. Instead, use third person or named reference to this work, as described above ("Smith showed" rather than "we showed").

Poster Submission

  1. Poster Competition (abstract)

Authors are invited to submit the abstracts (no more than 500 words) through the online submission system by May 31, 2023 (GMT +8). 

 

The Acceptance for Poster Abstracts will be announced on July 3, 2023 (GMT+8). 

 

There are two categories of the PNC 2023 Poster Session: Poster Competition and Poster Demonstration.

 

I. Poster Competition

For poster competition, the participants are required to give a brief oral presentation in person in Okinawa.  

The best award will be selected after evaluation by the Poster Judge Committee with following criteria and grading standards: 

(1) Validity of Method and Data (25%)

(2) Novelty in Ideas, Concepts, or Techniques (25%)

(3) Importance of Contribution (25%) 

(4) Clarity of Description and Design of Poster (25%)

 

II. Poster Demonstration

For poster demonstration only. The participants are welcome to take this opportunity to show research results that are related to the conference main theme.
