"Take Aim! Military Manga," vol. 17 of the Creative Comic Collection is published. This issue invites military expert Zhang Yong-xiang to discuss military manga's past and present. Also interviewed are military manga authors, including genre master Kobayashi Motofumi (Panzergrenadier, Cat Shit One), Maoqiu (Conflict Monthly), and Liang Shao-xian (West Pacific War).

"A Subculture in Fashion," vol. 16 of the Creative Comic Collection is published. This issue reports on Japanese Lolita Association president Aoki Misako's journey to become a global representative of Lolita fashion. Also interviewed are Zhi+ZEI+ (Professional Witch Pico Pico) and Monday Recover (Pink Ribbon), authors of Taiwan's own original Lolita manga.

ASCDC's Deputy Director Chen Hsi-yuan and Executive Secretary Chen Shu-jiun have been invited to the Dunhuang (DH2019) International Conference on Cultural Heritage Digitization & the Annual Digital Humanities Committee Meeting of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' Information Science Society to present a special report on "The Emperor's First and Final Edicts—From Research to Digital Presentation," and "The Framework of a Semantically Interoperable Asian Buddhist Art Gallery and Knowledge Base." Publication & Launch

"How to Forge a Manga Artist," vol. 15 of the Creative Comic Collection is published. This issue reports on the current scope and process of comics education in Japan and Korea, as well as comics higher education in France that delves into comics art theory. In a special interview with the Korean Manhwa Contents Agency, we see how Korea has used the power of the nation to foster comic artists, and succeeded in developing Bucheon as a city of manhwa. We also look back at comics correspondence classes in Taiwan during the Japanese rule period, and how they laid down an enduring foundation for Taiwan's graphic narrative and reading traditions.

The "Academia Sinica Digital Archives" web portal officially launched, integrating over 1.28 million precious digital resources and 164 websites, and providing the ability to conveniently search across multiple databases. It serves as a threshold for the general public to enter into the world of digital archives, as well as a foundation for academic research and many further applications. The archive also gathers many popular science articles to bring users into closer contact with specialized knowledge. For details, refer to the announcement.

"Imagining Other Cultures," vol. 14 of the Creative Comic Collection is published. This issue recounts author Mori Kaoru's thought process behind her creation of manga that dives into foreign cultures. An exclusive interview with Wang Ming-ke, an Academia Sinica scholar and specialist on the Qiang people, provides academic expertise to give a glimpse behind the mysterious veil of folk customs in this month's new serial, Poison Cat. Plus, a team-up between renowned artist Chiyou and folk culture research specialist Xie Qi-feng offers up a design for "Divine Clothing."
